Surah Al-Fatihah (The Opening), Verse 1

سُورَةُ الْفَاتِحَةِ

(Surah Al-Fatihah (The Opening), Verse 1)

1. بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
   Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
   “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.”
2. “اللہ کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے۔”
3. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
   Al-ḥamdu lillāhi Rabbi l-‘ālamīn
   “All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.”
4. “تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں جو تمام جہانوں کا رب ہے۔”
5. الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
   Ar-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
   “The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.”
6. “بہت مہربان اور رحم کرنے والا۔”
7. مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
   Māliki yawmi d-dīn
   “Master of the Day of Judgment.”
8. “قیامت کے دن کا مالک۔”
9. إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
   Iyyāka na‘budu wa iyyāka nasta‘īn
   “You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.”
10. ’’ہم تیری ہی عبادت کرتے ہیں اور تجھ ہی سے مدد مانگتے ہیں‘‘۔
11. اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ
    Ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭa l-mustaqīm
    “Guide us to the straight path.”
12. ’’ہمیں سیدھے راستے کی طرف رہنمائی فرما‘‘۔
13. صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ
    Ṣirāṭa lladhīna an‘amta ‘alayhim, ghayri l-maghḍūbi ‘alayhim wa lā ḍ-ḍāllīn
    “The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray.”
14. “ان کا راستہ جن پر تو نے انعام کیا، نہ کہ ان کا جن پر غضب ہوا اور نہ گمراہوں کا۔”
